Julie Rashid, MLIM, is the Manager of the Acquisitions and Rapid Cataloging unit at the University of Minnesota. She is responsible for providing leadership and management for the 10 member unit, contributing to the overall strategic planning and leadership of the department, and exerting the primary campus-wide leadership role for acquisitions policies, procedures and training. As manager, she remains current, with programmatic and technical advances in the area of print acquisitions. Prior to joining the University of Minnesota in 2015, Julie worked at the American Institute of Baking (Head Librarian) and Kansas State University (Acquisitions Librarian) before moving overseas to Pakistan where she worked at Fatima Jinnah Women University (Head Librarian), Sheikh Zayed International Academy (Head Librarian) and Ace International Academy (teacher). While overseas, she spearheaded projects to acquire new ILS systems at FJWU (Virtua) and SZIA (Alexandria) and led teams to catalog each of these institution’s collections.
