This program will discuss the perceptions and safety concerns of library employees regarding potential workplace violence. While issues regarding high-risk occupations, such as policing, have been identified and studied, there is a current lack of knowledge regarding environments - such as libraries - that are often considered, or assumed to be, low-risk for potential workplace violence incidents. The program will provide insight into how library employees' mental health may be impacted when working in these types of assumed low-risk environments, based on original research conducted by the program presenter.
