Accessibility Tools for Reading: Meeting the Diverse Needs of All Readers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this session two assistive technology specialists from PACER’s Simon Technology Center will give an overview of tools to support reading for the diverse needs of library users. Demonstrations will include low-tech tools, high-tech devices, mobile apps, Chrome extensions, and other online reading tools. These accessibility tools can benefit people with a range of disabilities, as well as the aging population. Reading tools can support the needs of individuals with various disabilities, including dyslexia, learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and vision impairment. Join us to learn about technology that can help to perceive content through magnification, visual settings, and auditory reading support. The presentation will include formats such as print material, e-books, audiobooks, and other digital content. This will be a fast-paced session to expose you to as many tools as possible in a short amount of time.
