Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Some libraries or library systems have collections of archives materials, but many library professionals have not received any archives training. They may be unfamiliar with how archives work and may feel unprepared to assist patrons seeking archival resources. This session will review the differences between libraries, archives, and special collections; provide library professionals with basic information about archives, including what to expect when visiting an archives and how to best work with archival materials; and discuss ways for librarians and archivists to understand and support each other’s work. This session will include sharable resources for library professionals to learn more about archives.
